Refunds & cancellation
Shotty Studio is sold through Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record. You buy from Dodo; Shotty Studio supplies the product. This page covers Shotty’s own practice plus the Dodo windows that apply to every purchase.
Time windows (Dodo Payments)
- Refund initiation: A refund (full or partial) must be started within 30 days of the transaction date. After that, Dodo’s dashboard will not allow a refund to be initiated. See Dodo’s refund rules.
- Refund arrival: Once processed, funds typically return to the original payment method within about 3–5 business days (bank timing varies).
- Subscriptions: Cancel at least 48 hours before the period renews. Cancellation takes effect at the next payment date. There are no refunds for unused subscription time. See Dodo Buyer Terms.
- Sales-tax-only refunds: If you were charged sales tax and believe you qualify for a tax refund, contact Dodo within 60 days of purchase with a valid tax registration code (Buyer Terms).
Under Dodo’s Buyer Terms, refunds are decided case by case and may be refused for fraud, abuse, or manipulative behavior. Checkout also shows Dodo’s Buyer Terms and Privacy Policy.
Monthly subscription
You can cancel anytime (subject to the 48-hour renewal cutoff above). You keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.
In Shotty Studio, open Settings → License → Manage billing for the customer portal (cancel, update card, invoices). You can also use the link in your Dodo receipt email, or email fathan@shotty.studio.
Lifetime License
Lifetime purchases are not refunded automatically. Within the 30-day Dodo window, email fathan@shotty.studio and include:
- The email used at checkout
- Your license key (or order / payment id from the receipt)
- A short explanation of why you want a refund
I read every request. If the reason is fair, I process the refund in Dodo within that 30-day window. Once refunded, the license key is disabled and the app stops treating the install as licensed after the next validation.
What I usually approve
- Purchase mistakes (wrong plan, accidental double buy)
- Genuine compatibility or install issues we cannot resolve quickly
- A clear “tried it, not for me” request made within 30 days of purchase
Chargebacks and abuse are handled separately and may revoke the license without a goodwill refund. Please contact support before filing a chargeback (Dodo Buyer Terms ask the same).
